Located in the bustling heart of Cheras, Restoran Seong Kee Hokkien Mee distinguishes itself as a premier Chinese noodle restaurant, inviting enthusiasts to indulge in its exquisite offerings. The highlight here is undoubtedly the Hokkien Mee, hailed by patrons like Timmy Chan for its rich flavor and delightful wok hei smell. Many reviews express satisfaction with the generous portions and affordable prices, marking it as a top choice for noodle lovers.

Calvin Chua appreciates the lower oil content while still achieving that coveted, savory essence, enhanced by the crunchy bak ewe pok (crispy pork lard) in every scoop. However, not all dishes have garnered equal praise; some reviewers, like FOONG WENG KIN, noted that the Yee Mee fell short of expectations, and John D'Cruz found the Yin Yeong Cantonese Noodles to be overly starchy.

The atmosphere, described as lively yet noisy, suggests it’s a spot for casual dining rather than lingering over a meal. Despite this, CK Chai’s intent to return speaks volumes for the restaurant’s ability to impress with its traditional stir-fry cuisine. For anyone seeking authentic Hokkien Mee in a no-frills setting, Restoran Seong Kee Hokkien Mee is a must-try destination.

Review highlights

Based on 489 reviews

Restoran Seong Kee Hokkien Mee is widely recognized for its flavorful and aromatic Hokkien Mee, praised for its distinct style that balances rich wok hei with a lighter use of oil. Customers appreciate the generous portions of crispy pork lard and find the prices to be affordable. While the Hokkien Mee is a standout, other dishes receive mixed reviews, with some items like Yee Mee and certain noodle dishes described as less satisfactory. The restaurant is known for its simple, no-frills atmosphere that tends to be busy and noisy during peak hours, catering more to quick, satisfying meals rather than leisurely dining. Overall, it remains a popular choice for classic Chinese stir-fry cuisine in the Cheras area.

Very tasty hokkien mee better than those famous ones which have to wait 1 to 2 hours. But the Yee mee is a let down not nice.

Style of Hokkien Mee is different compared to others. Notably the oil use is lesser but still produced the best wok hei smell and flavour. There is an abundance of bak ewe pok(crispy pork lard) in every scoop. Price is also cheap for the offering.

Hokkien Mee, Pork Fried Rice and Kam Heong Lala were good. The Yin Yeong Cantonese Noodles were too starchy and thick. Fried Lor Bak and Fried Pork were decent. Atmosphere is noisy and crowded especially at peak dining hours. Just a place to eat and go without lingering.

a simple restaurant serving old classic Chinese stir fry cuisine. of course, must go for their Hokkien mee or with beehoon. portion is ok, sambal were good too but pork lard is missing, otherwise this will be a good cuisine. the fried dumplings were also good & the price is really affordable.

Air cond environment. The hock Kien Mee Hoon and fried rice is nice but for some ppl might felt salted. So far to us ok. I preferred the Hock Kien Mee Hoon than Mee. Will go again if passby.

My go to when I crave for koey teow bee Hoon hokkien style. However this time it seems more towards oily and less salty. To overcome this I add lots of sambal and garlic. Also crispy pork lard seems a lot and during my younger self I love it but not now.
